This past Sunday the Ball Up Street Ball Players tipped-off their new tour with an exhibition game against celebrities such as Manny Pacquiao, Tank, Donald Faison and many more to launch the 2009 Ball Up Street Ball Tour at the LA Convention Center in conjunction with the Dub Concert and Car Show. 3500 people showed up to support the tour and watch the highly skilled performances of the top street ballers in the country play against their favorite celebrities. The Ball Up Tour is a competitive forum featuring the finest, most skilled, and best-known street ball players worldwide usually known from the And-1 mixtapes such as Sik Wit It, aka Professor, Bad Santa, AO, Go Get It, Escalade, Special FX, Air Up There aka MR.720, Hawk, Violator, Spinmaster and Assassin.

The Ball Up Street Ballers played against the celebrity E-league, including, Donald Faison, Manny Pacquiao, Columbus Short, Tank, Jay Harrington and many others. Tyrese Gibson announced both the celebrity E-league and the Ball Up Players to a stadium full of onlookers and fans. Music Producer and Recording artist, Tank, opened the game singing the National Anthem.

“The celebrities really came to play ball,” explained Demetrius Spencer, Ball Up CEO. “It was a great start for our tour and a big part of what we do is charity so to have so many kids come out was very rewarding.” The Inaugural game held a community and charity focus, hosting over two hundred foster children from Children Uniting Nations and at-risk youth from various Boys and Girls clubs who were able to take photos, get autographs and shoot hoops with the celebrities and players immediately after the game.

The Ball Up Street Ball 2009 Tour will continue through the month of October hitting top cities including Memphis, Detroit, Dallas, Phoenix, Chicago, Atlanta and Houston. If you think you have what it takes, open try outs for the competing team will be held in each city the day before. For specifics and more information visit: www.ballupstreetball.com.
