Kira Plastinina re-emerges
WWD broke the news that Russian teenage designer Kira Plastinina, whose “parent company, Los Angeles-based KP Fashion Co., filed for Chapter 7 liquidation more than six months ago,” but has 70 stores operating in Russia, will be reopening a shop on Robertson Boulevard and at the Beverly Center called K. Plastinina under new company name Pink Square.
Now, Racked LA reports that staff at the Robertson location said the store will be opening today, stocked with a “new, ‘premium’ collection called Lublu by K. Plastinina. Lublu, which means ‘I love’ in Russian, [and] is marked by higher-quality fabrics and a more sophisticated design sensibility…” (see images after the jump). Apparently, the Beverly Center boutique (with speculated opening date in a week or two), will stock the “standard line.”
