KALEIDOSCOPE: LUISAVIAROMA PRESENTS AN INSTALLATION OF ART, FASHION AND SCIENCE
FLORENCE, Italy (March 31, 2009) - LUISAVIAROMA, in collaboration with La Specola Museum of Natural History in Florence, marks the opening of the exhibition "Cristalli" with "Kaleidoscope": an installation that combines art, fashion and science.
"Cristalli" is an exhibition of Alberto Giazotto's private collection of natural crystals, the largest of its kind in the world. Opening simultaneously, "Kaleidoscope" is on display at LUISAVIAROMA and features a large, precious Bolivian blue and purple amethyst, borrowed from the collection, accompanied by an array of pink flamingos from the museum itself.
Just as a "kaleidoscope" deceives the eye, the crystal becomes a source of inspiration for fashion and merges reality with the virtual world of LUISAVIAROMA.COM
LUIS AVIAROMA becomes a "kaleidoscope" into a world where collections from the most prestigious designers and creative vanguard are associated with geometry, transparency, color, and the perfection of the crystals in an organized chaos.
This collaboration between La Specola and LUISAVIAROMA highlights Luisa's lead role in Florence's social and cultural setting. Luisa's store windows have for many years exhibited exclusive pieces and treasures of the fashion and art worlds. Florence's cultural heritage and Luisa's refined exclusivity and cutting edge style are perfectly united under one roof.
For over seventy years LUISAVIAROMA has been serving the unique needs of the luxury market in the heart of Florence, Italy with a wide selection of over 400 designer collections like Dior Homme, Dsquared2, Dolce & Gabbana, Christian Louboutin, Lanvin, Moncler, Marc Jacobs, Chloe’ and more.
