Model Spotlight-Chanel Iman

FASHION SPOTLIGHT- Chanel Iman *Top Model at the age of 19*

“I’m a Christian girl I pray every night, before meals and before I go on stage not to fall,” says Chanel Iman via N.Y. Look
Not really the words you expect to hear from an internationally known top model at such a young age. Chanel Iman, the 19 year-old Korean and Black Atlanta native who moved to Culver City, CA with her family has reached a level many girls would die for. After her family relocated to CA, she attended Fairfax High School (big ups!) where she would soon there after in 2006 enter a modeling contest put on by the notoriously known Ford Models. As Chanel did not place as first, she did rank runner up which as time has proven may have been better than winning the competition on top. This was only the beginning for miss Iman as she would model in the Mercedes Benz 2006 New York Fashion Week fall/winter collections of extremely prominent designers such as Anna Sui, Marc Jacobs and Zac Posen.

Since 2006, Chanel’s success as a high fashion model has sky rocketed through the roof. Her representation runs all over the world with agencies such as Viva models-Paris, Group Models, Beatrice International Models, Visage models-Switzerland, Union models and Ford Models- NYC & Paris. Although Chanel is widely known she is very much in touch with her teenager ways as she updates her myspace page with work and personal related photos, she shops at the grove in L.A. like many other teenagers her age and simply just likes to have fun. She has an aura of likableness that makes us happy she has made it as high as she has at such a young age. I look forward to watching her succeed at even greater heights.
“But I’m still a regular girl. I go to basketball & football games. I want to go to prom” –N.Y. Look
