Charles Frederick Worth: The Father of Haute Couture

Quite often associations with the term HAUTE COUTURE, you automatically think of Paris or London even but very few people know, the man named the father of Haute Couture was an English man, named Charles Frederick Worth. Worth found his way towards his claim to fame after working with drapery in many draperies and after moving to Paris was it when he realized his calling and contribution to not just fashion, but to art as well. Having created some of the world's first dresses and gowns influenced by fashion techniques mixed with a costume-like aesthetic, Worth created an artform to be followed and swooned after for centuries to come.

You may find more information about Worth's legacy on wikipedia as well as on the Worth Website, www.worthparis.com
