Mademoiselle had a very long life lasting from 1935 to 2001. Mademoiselle had to close its doors after the 9/11 attacks. Very similar to what is happening now within the publication industry, with Conde' Nast laying off 30% of their staff a couple of weeks ago. I found that many of the members who worked behind the doors of Mademoiselle moved on to work for Glamour Magazine.
I remember seeing Mademoiselle in my grandma's living room amongst many other magazines. Of course, too young to really pay attention to anything besides the visuals (pictures) there are certain things you just don't forget. It's funny how certain images will never escape your mind.
